PressWise MIS Implementation

Magnum Press is a commercial printer that needed to update its management information system (MIS), which handles estimates, job tickets, and invoicing. Their system ran on a single 10-year-old device that developers no longer supported. They invested in PressWise, a modern SaaS MIS solution, but after two years trying to implement it, they were stuck. Our team created a project outline, training plan, and cost analysis to ensure their new MIS was implemented with up-to-date data within three months.

  • Time on project: 120 hours

  • Financial change: 2,105% Return on Security Investment (ROSI)

  • Before State: Risk of losing $5,000 / day if MIS went down and multiple employees having to share one device, reducing efficiency. Two years attempting implementation with no luck.

  • After State: Risk eliminated and employees able to use their own devices during workflow, increasing efficiency. MIS implemented in three months.

The Process

After speaking with the owner of Magnum Press, we learned their staff was spread thin, and no one had time to focus on the new MIS implementation. Leadership told us their pricing structure hadn't changed in several years, and that was a concern. They also said some employees resisted moving to a new MIS.

To begin, we created a rollout plan starting with getting all data (presses, finishing tasks, substrates, etc.) into the system. We worked closely with leadership and advised increasing pricing based on cost and competitor analysis. After setting up the estimating system, we developed a soft launch and training plan for the organization.

The soft launch involved selecting early adopters—employees eager and open to learning new systems—to train on the MIS first. Our team provided one-on-one training to build their competency and confidence in the new system. After training early adopters, we focused on full implementation by onboarding the rest of the organization. Our team emphasized change management to ensure buy-in across the entire organization.

During full implementation, we worked closely with estimators to improve pricing accuracy while following leadership guidelines for a general 30% price increase.

Final Outcome

By implementing a new MIS, we removed a single point of failure for Magnum Press that could have cost the business over $5,000 in daily revenue and moved them to a reliable system with increased pricing.

Testimonial

Magnum Press | Manufacturing

Unlucky Umbrella, and Kasandra specifically, has been a pleasure to work with. We engaged to work on the implementation of our ERP/CRM system. I am impressed with her knowledge of Presswise and her working relationship with the whole organization. It has made things painless. She is a great partner, and we will continue our engagement with her long-term.
